Parent dashboard
See streaks, stamps, and weekly practice summaries for each child profile. No audio recordings are ever exposed in the parent view — privacy is the default, not the setting.
Child profiles
Create a profile for each child with their age, communication preferences, and goals. Profiles stay on your account — children do not have separate public accounts in the current version.
Practice plan settings
Set a daily goal duration, preferred practice time for reminders, and which prompt categories are enabled for each profile. You stay in control of the experience.
Progress summaries
Weekly and monthly summaries show practice frequency and stamp milestones. Progress is framed as participation — not scores. There's no rank, no grade, no judgment.

Low-pressure by design
Practice is built to feel calm and unhurried — one short rep at a time, with no scores and no broken-streak shame. The goal is a gentle daily habit, not performance.
Recordings stay on-device
By default, voice recordings never leave the device. Cloud sync is opt-in, encrypted, and deletable per-recording. The parent controls all sync settings.
Child data is never sold
We do not sell, share, or broker child data to advertisers or data brokers. We collect the minimum required. Account deletion removes all associated child data immediately.
Ads for kids are off by default
We do not run behavioural advertising on child profiles. Promotional content — if any — is parent-controlled and off by default. No third-party ad trackers on child sessions.
No public child leaderboards — ever
Children are never ranked against other children, publicly or privately across accounts. Streaks are personal. Progress belongs to the child and their caregiver.
COPPA & GDPR-K compliant
Parental consent is required and verified before a child profile is created. We collect only what is necessary. Our data practices meet or exceed US COPPA and EU GDPR-K requirements.
We don't advertise to children.
Our revenue comes from optional family plan subscriptions and a tip jar. Not from selling attention or data.
Content, sharing, and transparency.
Curated content — no UGC
All prompts, stories, and scenarios are reviewed and curated. There is no user-generated content, no chat between users, and no external links visible in child mode.
SLP share is parent-controlled
If you work with a speech-language pathologist, you can opt in to share a curated progress summary. This is always parent-initiated, parent-revocable, and never automatic.
AI transparency
Lou is AI-powered. We say so clearly on every page, in age-appropriate language. Parents see a disclosure on account setup. Children see it too, framed simply.

Report safety concerns to safety@dailyoutloud.com. We respond within 24 hours. Our escalation path is documented in the safety runbook and reviewed regularly.
