Daily Out Loud is built around practicing out loud, and your voice stays yours. Recordings are handled privately and processed on-device when possible — no audio is uploaded without an explicit opt-in. We always show a clear indicator when the microphone is active, and accessibility support is built in from the start, not added as an afterthought.

Junior Journey launches first — a guided story experience for ages 3–10 with Lou the duck as companion. Mini-games, the atlas, and additional journey paths follow. The waitlist is how you get early access.

No. Privacy-first is a founding constraint. Voice is optional, and when used, audio stays on the device by default. We do not upload, store, sell, or share child voice recordings.

Cloud sync (when it arrives) is opt-in — never automatic. Parent controls govern what, if anything, leaves the device. See the Safety page for the full picture.

Ads are off by default for all profiles, and off entirely for Junior profiles. Parents can adjust ad preferences for adult profiles only. We will never show behavioural ads to children or base ads on voice or practice data. The core business model is optional supporter plans — not advertising.

Lou is a friendly duck companion — an AI-generated guide who travels the world and shares prompts, jokes, and travelogues. Lou does not coach, evaluate, score, or advise on speech.

Lou is transparent about being AI. The prompts are machine-written. Your voice — and what you do with it — is entirely yours.

Yes — many families find daily out-loud practice a useful complement to clinical work. Always follow your SLP’s clinical goals. Daily Out Loud is not a replacement for therapy, and does not give clinical feedback.

The Family Supporter plan includes an optional SLP progress share — you choose what is shared and can revoke access anytime.

Yes. The full practice experience — every game, every journey chapter, every activity, every accessibility mode — is free forever. Optional supporter plans ($3/mo or $7/mo for families) unlock cosmetics, UI themes, cloud history, and extras. Practice and accessibility are never locked behind payment.

No. Use Daily Out Loud without an account and the full studio works on whichever device you opened it on. Sign in (free) only if you want your streak, reflections, and settings to follow you to a second device.

No, not unless you opt into cloud sync — which is coming later and always opt-in. Today, audio lives on whichever device you recorded on. On mobile it sits in the app sandbox; on the web it lives as a downloadable file until you save or discard it.

Lou is AI-generated. We say so clearly on every page. The prompts, the jokes, the travelogues — all machine-written. The voice that says them out loud is still yours. We do not synthesize, store, or analyse your speech.

By default, nothing leaves your device. We do not run ads. We do not sell data. We do not use third-party analytics on child profiles. See the Safety page for the full picture.

Yes. Account deletion removes all associated data, including child profiles and cloud saves. Contact us and we will process it within 48 hours.

Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on desktop and mobile. For recording, we use the Web Audio API and MediaRecorder — both supported in all modern browsers. Voice is always optional, so an older browser that lacks MediaRecorder still works fine in manual mode.
